Well its christmas time. Not as good as halloween but I'll take it. Its also bowl season, the 2nd best time of the sports year and I'm all psyched and ready for 4 weeks off. Or I would be off if it wasn't for my new job at the awesomest place ever. THE GREAT AMERICAN COOKIE AWESOME. I'm gonna bake tons of cookies and then eat them in front of the customers that ordered them while staring at them intently. |

So I've had two days of college and all of my classes. My roommate Christian's pretty cool, though he didn't bring much as entertainment goes. Most of the time he's watching me play Earthbound which is already one of my favorite RPGs ever. My suitemates are always blasting their hip hop crap but its ok cuz we got good thick walls and the RA has yelled at them every single day so far. My math teacher hates being there, he keeps asking for the time every three minutes. I saw Eric, my old friend from Kroger who's a freshmen this year and is also in my Theater Appreciation class, so we've hung out a bit. Other than that I've just been watching Blood+, which is my 2nd favorite anime I've seen this summer after Eureka Seven. Uh, I guess that's it. |

I guess its my birthday and now's a good a time as any to update this puppy. I got me a Tivo, moneys, and a Geforce 6200 graphics card(maybe not awesome but still hella-better than what i had). I'm also getting a personal trainer because I'm gonna start working out. PLUS I'm gonna go on those diet critters. Never thought I'd say that. Ok, see ya when I update again maybe before the end of the year haha. |

Today is my favorite holiday of the year. Not just for the trick or treat but because i love the paranormal and love the horror movies the day brings. (Horror is my favorite genre after War) After having watched a list of the 100 greatest horror films on saturday, i learned that i had only seen 23 of them. I'm up to 26 now. For anyone interested I will now divulge the history of such a great day.
3000 years ago, the Celts celebrated Nov. 1 as Samhain, a new year's day of sorts. Their calender was split between the summer months and winter months. Because winter killed the crops and caused famine, it became synoymous with death, as summer with life. The Celts believed that on Samhain, the day between life and death, the spirtual world merged with the human world. The spirits of those that died would rise and if they chose not to return, the woud haunt the living forever. To ensure that the dead would return to the spirit realm, the Celts would leave sweets in the graveyards and shrines. On that very same day across Europe, the Roman empire celebrated Nov. 1 for the goddess of fruits. There would be many fun and games, including bobbing for apples. Eventually the Empire would adopt Christianity and all roman holidays became adopted. The Fruit Goddess' Holiday was turned into All Saints' Day to celebrate well, the saints. As the Empire took over the Celtic empire and forced Samhain traditions into the Catholic Holiday, including its celebration of the dead. This is why the catholic Mexico celebrates Dia de los Muertos on Nov.1. The Celts and their Druid priests wanted their own holiday and made their new Samhain on the day before. The mass on All Saints' Day in Latin was called Allhallowmas. The night before sudh a mass was called Allhallow'een. That's where the name Halloween came from. The Church was understandably upset at this. They retaliated with their witch-hunts and crushing of the Druids. Black cats were said to be witches hiding in animal form. These stories by the Catholics were the root for witches' and black cats' role in Halloween. But the holiday endured, even as the Celts became Catholic. When the Irish immigrated to America during the early 1800's they brought this tradition with them and was embraced by a protestant nation already very fond of the paranormal.(Notice the date, the Witch-hunts were well over by this time.) Children in the 1800's would celebrate the holiday as an excuse to commit crimes. Children would go rampant, resulting in many injuries and even deaths. As a way to reign these children in, an institution of "Trick or Treat" based off of the Celtic traditon of leaving sweets to avoid the bothers of ghosts. Though many customs had already been established, Halloween became what we know it as today during the 1950's and the Baby Boom. Children in suburbia would "trick or Treat" in droves and everyone gave treats. Today, Halloween is the second most commercial holiday in the United States. |

I haven't done this whole posting thing in a while but anyway, I'm bored so I'll bore others instead. I don't believe I've been taking good care of myself here at West Georgia. I consistently forget to take my medicines which are supposed to help me remember to take them, so I'm constantly going through with drawls from inconsistent doses. Basically, I always feel like shit. My forgetting to eat has now become bad, i would say i actually have a meal twice maybe thrice a week and even only snacks once a day at most. Not too helpful is my lack of sleep, of which i get about 3 hrs on a good night. Due to my constant fear of sleep, I've never been able to fall quickly asleep. I've always slept with the help of well timed/planned sugar crashes or when my body finally gives out. Now the fear is gripping, every moment in bed reminds me of being in a coffin, the relaxation of muscles reminding me of the body before it dies, the loss of consciousness of death itself. At this time I haven't slept an hour since monday night and i don't plan on sleeping tonight/morning. Life's always an adventure.
Oh and I'm reading the collection of Douglas Adams anecdotes called The Salmon of Doubt. I suggest everyone read it because this may have been the greatest artists of the english language in history and an extraordinary intellectual that this world lost far too early. |

Back from Boston, 2nd saddest city on earth.
Went to see Mr. y Mrs. Smith there and in the next theater was the Boston game, that's right Red Sox games are played at movie theaters daily. On way back, people wore sad faces. I found out why, most were landing in Atlanta and continuing to Coolamala City.
On June 22, 7 year anniversary of kitty Chicago's death and 2 year anniversary of kitty Noel's death, I go into major surgery of the throat. I'm on bed rest for 2 weeks, missing both Land of the Dead and War of the Worlds. I'm to be in so much pain, I am being perscribed Lunesta, the one with butterflies in the commercial, Valium, and Oxy-cotton. When I return to work, I will be 18 and working in the deli, making sandwiches for a woman. Bitter irony or Poetic Justice? |

Tonight I'm gonna go over to Dan's and order a pizza and watch Elf. I haven't seen it yet, but everyone else says that it's hilarious.
I haven't played Halo 2 online yet because, get this, they (Dad) threw the starter disc in the trash. It's too amazing. So now I have to fork over the 50 bucks to get myself one. I guess XBL and Halo 2/3 will be a good way to keep in touch with my friends in college. It is like being right there with them, so that's good. (note: all of this paragraph was typed by dan, with the initial idea from Allen)
I just got back yesterday from the UGA tour. It was the good. I would really like to go there even though it's far away from all my best friends and I like them a whole lot. Hopefully I get accepted, and I guess I'd better get on my application soon.

Work Life: "I is cool. About 15 hours a week. I don't know how much I get paid. The raise thing is weird, but my last paycheck was $52"
Family Life: "My sister is trying to come here for Xmas with her soon to be life partner, that she apparently met over the interweb in Washington DC. My little brother is uhhhh, going slowly insane and was forced to cut his hair. My parents are cool I think, their 10th anniversary is today"
Oh yah, I have the interweb now, my screename is SDFugly, but I'm not on very much. I haven't tried to get on that much because of spyware and viruses. I better get one of my amazing computer friends to help me with that.

WEEEE! I love 15mg Adderall! I'm focused more, have less of a personality, and have become a totally emotional pussy.
ANNYWHOOOOO...
the kroger civil war has now reached the boiling point.
The new Front Manager Paula has completely fucked up the entire schedule causing there to be either way too many GEPE/open cash register to 1 GEPE/open register(usally me.) The accounting has gotten so bad the Darnell, the coolest supervisor has quit and Shannon, one of the very few that actually know how to work a business is very near to resigning. On top of this, long lasting feuds between the older and Hatian cashiers who have no authority as well as no English skils and the teenage cashiers are about to explode. Jaina the loony has found religion and has commenced the attempted conversion of EVERY customer, causing lines that take forever to get through. AND... the dairy inventory manager has been hopitalized with a blood clot in his left lung. SO its up to the best GEPE(me.) to stand in for him. However, any time I need to use any piece of heavy machinery, I have to have a person 18 years or older to observe me PUSHING A BUTTON. Hooray for labor unions! Thank God for mis amigos Theresa, Nick, and Lauren to keep me company.
Is it just me or is EVERYBODY becoming an emotional bastard? Maybe its not the medicine, maybe its the weather. But I seem to be out of the loop in something... or maybe I'm just ADD and not paying attention to my surroundings. Donde esta Dana? Davenport's is boring as hell w/o her to lighten the mood and help Andia keep us off topic.
